DESCRIPTION | The study-unit is linked to the UM Internships for Enterprise and Industry. During the work-based period, the student is assigned practical duties by the organization. The student will be guided by a mentor from the side of the employer and an academic supervisor from the side of the university. The academic component linked to the Internship will cover topics relevant to the organization and involves observation of the organization’s internal and external environments. Learning Outcomes: 1. Knowledge & Understanding By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to: • Describe the organisation, its structure and its functions; • Identify the roles and responsibilities of units and departments in the organization; • Analyse the stakeholder environment including strategic groups, supply chain members, customers, competitors and public partners; • Provide a review of the external environment of the organisation: demographic, economic factors, natural, technological, political and cultural. 2. Skills By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to: • Develop communications skills adapted to enterprise environments; • Identify strategies for problem solving in organisations; • Think creativity in terms of interlinking organisational resources to solve problems; • Become adaptable to the challenges of the workplace; • Emulate good practices and adopt a professional work ethic.
